Description

Steve Mannion perfectly captures the look and feel of Paul Pope's Battling Boy in this illustration. Not only are the characters lovingly rendered, but Mannion does a great job of recreating the energy of Pope's brush lines. Battling Boy (and the subsequent Aurora West) books are close to my heart and I'm excited to add this to my collection.

I originally saw this available during Comic Art Live but wasn't in a position to purchase it. I couldn't get it out of my mind, though, and followed up with its owner to see if she would still be willing to part with it. Thank you so much Shannon for working with me on this!

Well put together by Mannion in a nice production where all three characters build on each one's success to create something greater that the sum of their parts!

Gorgeous commission! I guess Steve Mannion really took the challenge of channelling Paul Pope seriously. Nice job.
