Illustrative painting that brings a level of realism representing these real life conflicts throughout history. It's presented even more in your face and raw than in textbooks! The color wash adds a level of authenticity.

Except for the English soldier in the foreground, the rest look like zombies with their faces blurred into grotesque gestures!
True definition of what a war is!
