Description

Astronomical artist Ron Miller has knocked it out of the ballpark again with this 14 x 19-inch Acrylic depiction of Elon Musk�s exploration of LHS 475 b, a rocky Earth-sized exoplanet that closely orbits a red dwarf star 40 light-years away, in the constellation Octans. It is the first exoplanet detected by the James Webb Space Telescope and could have an atmosphere. The Webb telescope team chose to observe this world after carefully reviewing targets of interest from NASA�s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, which hinted at the planet�s existence. In this depiction, further analysis has confirmed the existence of an atmosphere, the problem of faster than light travel has been solved, and Musk (or his descendants) have sent a manned expedition to investigate.

Nice landscape and sentiment of man's spirit of exploration. Although without an atmosphere, there shouldn't be cloud formations on this planet.

It's based on an earlier illustration I did of the exoplanet LHS 475 b, which has an atmosphere.
