KONG vs PTERODACTYL Commission

KONG vs PTERODACTYL - A MASSIVE commission (22"x30"), mostly drawn in a hotel room in San Diego at last year's Comic-Khan.

I was really excited about this piece, but drawing anything at that size with pen and ink can be problematic more times than not. It was drawn on the fly and I made decisions based on what "felt right" at the time. I like working that way, but it can be nerve wracking when you're trying to get something finished.

At the last minute, I felt the need to "blow out" Fay and draw her in a more abstract way. I'm not sure why...maybe I didn't want to distract from Kong and the Pterodactyl, but it felt right, and I think it makes for an interesting interpretation of her struggle.
