Description5-2021...A great page DC Production art for FAMOUS FIRST EDITION #61, page 11, (which reprints SUPERMAN #1). Here was the description given to me...Art was by Albert DeGuzman. This page has his inks and white-outs. Page measures approx. 12" x 16" Collectors will never be able to own any of the original art from Action Comics #1 or Superman #1. In the 1970s and 80s Mr. Albert DeGuzman was tasked by DC to painstakingly recreate the original art. The story goes, DC purchased a near-mint copy of Action 1 and sliced it up for reference use…they really did that! Inked recreations, color guides, and mechanicals make up this collection of production items depicting the memorable panels that brought the comic legend to life. From these production pieces, DC was able to produce the reprints that so many of us had the opportunity to cherish, just as the youth of 1938 once did. It is really cool to see this page! It's actually like a type of heavy plastic vellum and the detail is incredibly true to the original work of Joe Shuster which more than likely doesn't exist. Supposedly all the reprints of Action Comics #1 and Superman #1 stem from these recreations by DeGuzman! I also like how Clark Kent thinks he's been found out at the Daily Star (the original Daily Planet) and a few panels later is saving the day as Superman! Social/Sharing |

It might be heavy vellum so they could use a light box or trace over a projection. Very nice Superman memorabilia and serves as an art piece for the ages.
