Description11 x 20Love this book and was desperate to pick up some art at the drop for issue #1. I had the rarely used strategy of just going after every single page I could, knowing I would likely not be first for most, if not all. I figured I'd just outlast the other collectors and hope to get lucky. I did end up lucky in getting this cover, and it ended up being a wise strategy as there was only 1 subsequent drop of art with the majority of this series selling complete. Lucked into this Skybound Variant cover for the first issue. At the time, I had no idea of the context as the story had just started. Only with reading subsequent issues did it become clear just how great this cover was. Beautiful image of Lona and Cobra Sun holding their belts. DWJ really did well with his design for these belts. It also has about 3 inches or art added at the bottom to include Lona's full body. It's just a perfect image to represent the series. It's also the image for Dan's DAPB T-shirt in his store. Wear that thing all the time. For those unfamiliar, I did a non-spoiler video going over the series and the collected TPB was just released in the past couple of weeks. there it is! such a stunning piece that's direct and in your face with these bombastic characters. I do love the added length to finish off the feet.

Such a beautiful cover and incapsulation for the series! It might be my favorite cover of the series too! Huge congrats on the pick up! I'm glad I at least have the shirt, just need to worry about fading it out too quickly!

One of the best images from the series and that's saying something! 2 champions, 3 belts! Also love the use of straight black in background to frame the wrestlers. Congrats!

Awesome cover, Jason! DWJ can razzmatazz with the best of them, of course, handing down all those ink sculptures that somehow manage to capture on paper the visceral buzz of pure kinetic energy, but I really love this more "subdued" approach, where he allows this dynamite, strong composition bear the sizzle of the storytelling, allowing the reader to be drawn in -almost- quietly so that the hammer comes down even harder when the cover is opened... Outstanding piece, Jason! Great get!
