From Classics Illustrated #4 out February 1990. Saw it when it first came out, and it's been a huge influence on me.

This is a photo of the original art, not a scan. Also shown as published. Recently, the piece was published as the back cover for the Spanish hardcover edition of the book (also shown).

Sienkiewicz's painting always have a way of really bringing you into the scene. Staring at this, you can almost feel, taste, and smell the cold, damp, salty, sea air. Like much of his work, this is simply sublime.

The published page is almost fumettti with how enveloping the image is and not needing the words to let you know about the mood struck for the introduction of Ahab and what he represents.
