I've never been lucky enough to have made Filipe Andrade's commission list through Felix. When he was announced for FACTS 2023 Spring Edition earlier this month, I knew this was my time.

On the first day of the show, he showed up late due to travel difficulties & I had waited about 2-3 hours at his table. I wasn't about to give up my first spot in that line.

And it paid off: Filipe spent quite some time talking to me about his life & work - ranging from Cyberpunk over some of his variants to my favorite of his, "The Many Deaths of Laila Starr".

After that chat, I was even more sure to ask him to draw the magnificent Laila - and he sure did. While I love his work, though, the pricing difference between the pencil & inked versions, did push me towards going for pencil only.

It's true: this is definitely a bit rougher than those fine bust commissions, but it's still instantly recognizable as Filipe. Quick, but confident pencil lines make up this typical version of his co-creation with Ram V.

And about Ram V... I met him two weeks later at a show in Paris & got him to sign this piece. I may have asked Ram to draw something, too...
