DescriptionTook a while for me to notice that there is a James Bond strip to collect. Used CAF and HA to see what was out there and found a nice one from one of the best gentlemen in our community - Wally.I liked this strip as it features Bond, identifies him as 007, and features Miss Solitaire - in what I believe is her first appearance in this January 1959 daily. Unfortunately, it had mold on the right side - on Miss Solitaire too, argh! But I live near Gordon so what the heck, I purchased the strip with the intent to conserve, and here is the result! You can see how the right-hand side used to look in the additional image. Great to not only be the custodian but also help conserve the art. Social/Sharing |

Great before and after pictures. Thank you for preserving this beautiful daily. Thinking of the Bond theme as I look at this a few times.

When you were young and your art
Was from comic books
You used to say live and let live
(You know your strips)
(You know your strips)
(You know your strips)
But if art market changin' world
McLusky draws in
James Bond strips in art lines
Say give in and buy
Give in and buy
What does mold matter to ya
Gordon’s got a job to do he has restored it well
He got to give the MAGOT fella hell

I also didn't know of the existence of a James Bond comic strip. The restoration looks great! Kudos on this pick up and restoration!

I didn't know there was a James Bond comic strip either, but hey--you found a great one! As you said, it's got everything you could want in a Bond strip. I'd like to add that it's beautifully drawn by John McLusky. The composition is very nice with a wide shot to open and moving closer and closer right to the final tight close-up on Miss Solitaire (Who is beautifully drawn as well). The inking is superb, with a nice balance of blacks and whites and greys. SIncere congrats!

Thats two qualities in one update; quality conservation and a quality strip.
