Description
Batman: Arkham Unhinged #1 Page 4

Pencils and Inks by Mike S. Miller

Arkham Unhinged was initially released in 2011 as DC Digital Online Comic series, the story was a tie-in for the Batman: Arkham City video game. It was initially released as 58 "Web-Chapters" (where the pages were about half length, hence the unusual line guides on this DC Digital Comics art board). It was later collected and released physically in print in 2012 as 20 standard issues.

The premise of the plot (in case you haven't played the game) is that in the wake of a takeover of Arkham Aslyum led by the Joker which is thwarted by Batman, the Mayor of Gotham elects to shut down the Asylum in favor of walling off a large part of the city and converting it into a maximum security prison dubbed "Arkham City". He plans to have all the outlaws of Gotham quarantined from the rest of the city by hiring a private militia known as TYGER to capture and lock them behind the walls of Arkham City.

Arkham Unhinged picks up during these events, in the preceding pages the news gives a similar exposition on the Mayor's shutting down of Arkham Aslyum and the creation of Arkham City. They then begin an interview with the one in charge of running Arkham City: Doctor Hugo Strange. Strange conducts the interview boasting about the successfulness of the whole project and announces that they've successfully captured almost every criminal in Gotham, missing only Two-Face and Catwoman (and then hints at the belief that Batman should also be a resident of Arkham City). Selina Kyle walks into her apartment as the interview starts and begins to put on her Cat-Suit while Strange says on air that he promises that Two-Face and Catwoman will soon be apprehended. Then we get to this page where Selina has just about finished putting on her suit and looks at the TV remarking that Strange is certainly welcome to try and capture her. Her home phone rings and Selina answers to find Two-Face on the other line apologizing, saying that one of them had to go down and that they both knew it wasn't going to be him. As soon as Two-Face hangs up, a TYGER squad breaks into Selina's apartment and tries to apprehend her.

I absolutely love the series of Arkham games, so I'm happy to get a page from this tie-in to those games, especially one that such beautifully features Selina and her lovely cats. The face of the cat in the bottom middle panel cracks me up lol.

Very nice page with Catwoman happy amongst her family.  These moments don't last long.  Miller is already visually hinting at the ominous 2nd panel where the cat's curiosity would fortell Catwoman's downfall.
