Hercules, Prince of Power

ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTE (or Prints).

One of my favorite mini series in the crazy 80’s over at Marvel. Bob Layton’s comical take on the Olympian strongman hero was a big hit, leading to a second 4 issue mini series, and a graphic novel. Layton’s portrayal of Herc as an arrogant, but loveable lunkhead, plus sending him off into the cosmos for adventures away from Earth, was fun all around. I have been looking for a great page from the series for a long time, and when thus one popped up for sale, I jumped at the chance.

I decided to post this because someone was selling prints of this page on EBay. Plus, it’s such a cool page. It is, after all, subtitled the ~Prince~ of power, not “prints.”

Depicted is the introduction of Hercules’ ever present records droid who documents all of Hercules’ adventures. It’s from the first issue of the fist mini series.
