Description

Batman: Turning Points was a five-issue DC 2001 limited series, exploring the turning points of the relationship between Batman and Commissioner James Gordon, and serving as a prologue to "Officer Down", a storyline leading to Gordon's initial retirement from the police force.
The incomparable Paul Pope supplied the art for the 5th and final issue of the series. As he is known to do, Paul worked large on this- 19x23 Bristol board with pen and ink plus additional art outside of the margins in pencil. Every panel features Batman and/or Gordon, plus three with the Bat Symbol in various stages. This may be a "silent" page but it speaks volumes. I have long loved Pope's work, throughout his entire career, and this page is one of my favorite pieces in my art collection.
