DescriptionDoes anyone remember Howard Stern? I asked some High School students the same question and none knew who even was. This piece of art depicting Howard Stern appeared in the magazine Sound and Vision (February – March 2006) on pages 65 & 67. Back in my High School days I used to work in a supermarket stocking the shelves, unpacking the deliveries, sweeping, and mopping the floors. My favorite part of the day was when they needed me to stock the dairy section’s refrigerated shelves. These cases were stocked from behind in a back refrigerated room where there was a radio tuned into WNBC – AM’s Howard Stern show. The management warned me numerous times not to laugh so loud, but I couldn’t help myself because the show was just refreshingly hilarious. I haven’t listened to Howard Stern in years, but I had to buy this caricature, which brought fond memories and a smile to my face. Now that Howard is more mature maybe he can consider returning to mainstream radio where he can introduce a new generation of younger fans to his unique humor. Yes, I’m sure he’ll stretch the rules of the FCC which “prohibits obscene, indecent and profane content from being broadcast on the radio or TV.” However, don’t doubt Howard Stern’s ability at adapting to any venue. For all you naysayers, I have one thing to say - Baba Booey! Social/Sharing |
