Gary Frank and Jon Holdredge

This is my favorite artwork by Gary Frank. His depiction of Sabretooth/Creed is awesome. It seems like this version of Sabretooth was used as a model for X-Men Origins:Wolverine some 10 years later. There were a number of great casting choices in that movie.

In this one-shot special, the original 5 X-Men pursue Sabretooth - Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Iceman and Angel. A bulked up Caliban was after him as well. This book is just after events in Uncanny X-Men 328. It isn't the X-Men that get Creed, government agents led by Val Cooper riddled him with bullets and he 'dies'. Shortly after, he reappears as a forced member of X-Factor wearing an inhibitor collar. I think this is around X-Factor 120. Who know how many issue #1s would have been created if this all happened today.

Great pick up. I loved this story from back in the day. I just recently picked up a page from this book off of Heritage.
