Ghosts of the Past - reworking pop-culture properties!

My first real Deadpool art from his (shared with Cable) series. It’s always great to see these fictional characters in real world places. Putting a maskless Deadpool in one of the most populated places in the US, Times Square Manhattan, is pretty awesome.

This page has a lot of fun little details, some having to get reworked due to licensing. One major change from the initial final pencil/inked page was the reworking of the New York’s famous Times Square performer Naked Cowboy (Robert Burck playing guitar in nothing but cowboy hat, tightie whities and boots) to be a Nearly Nude Construction worker playing a Tuba in sneakers (reworking the hat, shoes, shadow from music instrument and even added a construction belt with tools). Things that were kept but not 100% visible for any logo lawsuits were Broadway shows WICKED and LION KING; an altered jumping MARIO BROS Mario (not a plumber but an average-Joe NY Yankees fan/player jumping over a greyed out mushroom. But atleast Deadpool keeps his Boston Red Sox cap on with his Deadpool merch t-shirt and jacket.

Having spent a little time in Times Square it’s fun to have seen the same sights at Deadpool. Reilly’s specific imagery that really make Manhattan’s Times Square unique to any other place in the world is well done.
