Old West Wolverine

Really nice having the gun in the foreground as if to say that Logan is under the spectre of the gun.

Thank you for the comment, it's a commission not a cover, though I wish. I'm a fan of the old western style and Wolverine happens to be one of my favorite characters, so mash them together.

This is going down as one of the COOLEST comissions I've ever seen. I truly mean that. Portacio NAILS that mash-up of Wolverine with the Old West, two of my favorite things as well [I have a lot of favorite things ;) ].

The composition is on point with Logan's positioning, his duster flowing with the warm wind, his claws poppoed out, one fist pumped up, his head tilted in a way that says, "Say when." Then all of this badassery being threatened by the six-shooter trying to eclipse our protagonist from above. 

Portacio's inks are so rich and add such a brooding flavor to this otherwise well lit setting of a small western town. I truly am in awe of this piece of work. It SHOULD be a cover and someone from Marvel needs to contact you about this right now. 

I just picked up my own Portacio commission from him at a con last month and while I do absolutely love it, I have to say I am jealous of this piece and will certainly be back to view it for years to come.

That is an intriguing idea. Who would I contact at Marvel or should I reach back out to Whilce if he would be willing to solicit it as a cover?

Gosh I wish I knew. Whilce would have the connections. But I don't know if the artist goes to Marvel or if Marvel goes to the artist about something like this.
