Beautiful Byrne!
Pure talent and vision! This doesn't need a date on it as you can tell it's from a time period when John Byrne dominated.
This sketch is as nice as it looks. I only sold it because Wayne loves Daredevil and Byrne. Plus he let me hold and examine his Byrne/Austin X-Men 133 cover, along with many other treasures.
Thank you for taking care of the drawing. Did you originally request this DD sketch from Byrne? Yes! I remember the Byrne Uncanny X-Men 133 cover! It was a bada$$ cover to behold in person. After I picked up the cover from Liefeld, I scanned it and made some full size photocopies before mailing it off to Wayne!
No I think I got it on eBay in the early days. Byrne didn't do many cons and he wasn't doing commissions then. I loved that cover, Liefeld always had Bryne art.
Nothing beats Byrne's '80s art (George Perez might be in the ballpark) ! Fantastic piece !
Totally agree, Byrne art in the 80s was awesome. In my opinion, a fan couldn't go wrong with a Byrne or Perez sketch in the 80s. If you got a sketch from both, well...you hit the jackpot! What a neat time it was with Byrne on X-Men and Perez on Teen Titans. To think a fan could have walked up and purchased a sketch from either just blows my mind!
This is a very memorible Byrne sketch, his pencil work is outstanding plus he draws a killer DD! CONGRATS!!!
