Description

This page was sold on behalf of Gerry Alanguilan's family, it features his inks over Leinil Yu's bluelines. Next Comic Art's Jiggy Cruz was kind enough to have Leinil Yu sign this page for me before shipping.

Eagle eyed readers will note that Leia's blaster changes from the DL-11 pistol in the first panel to a DH-17 in the last panel.

Gerry was an excellent artist who left us way too soon. This is a lovely example of his talent.

The second panel of Leia is spot on like it came out of the quieter scene in the Ewok Village where she's talking to Luke about what she remembers of her mother. A wonderfully poignant piece with Gerry's legacy of fine and lasting work that also links to the legacy of our lost space princess.

Congrats Colin, a prime example from this story arc. I was very excited when Jiggy announced these remaining pages were going to be offered. Gerry was an important Filipino comic book artist in his home country before breaking into the American market. His education as an architect was apparent in his use of line and detail in backgrounds, typically clean and sharp. A talent lost too soon.
