Description

"MOONS OVER MANDALORE" was created especially for the KEPYR charity's 2023 Kindred Spirits fundraiser auction. This one-of-a-kind painting by fan-favorite illustrator, Dan Brereton, features Din Djarin, aka the Mandalorian, armor agleam ready for action and wielding the legendary Darksaber in one hand and in the other holding his adopted foundling, Grogu, who comically munches on his delicious frog eggs. In the dreamlike background behind them, a pair of fantastical moons rise, framing them beautifully in this stunning art.

Media is watercolor and acrylic gouache on heavy Arches watercolor paper and measures 10" wide by 14" high. Artwork is signed by the artist.

Dan generously donated his time and talent to create this art for a great cause as 100% of the proceeds of this auction went to UNICEF's efforts to help children displaced in the devastating earthquake that recently struck Turkey and Syria, and I am happy to have been the successful bidder.

Looking forward to having this lush and colorful piece of art framed and on my wall.

I think Grogu's eating those stolen macarons. Awesome touches like that make Dan's painting one of the best interpretations.

Thanks Han! Would love to see this piece as a future Mandalorian cover in some shape or form as it certainly merits consideration in my opinion. I noticed one of Dan's Death Dealer Commission pieces was featured as a variant cover on Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer #1 by Opus, which was really neat to see.

Regardless, I'm thriled to have this piece as Dan just obliterated it, and it was for a really good cause.
