Prelim pencil Splash page of NIMROD BEAST, the final art and design for published page is below, from Paul Davidson’s work on GHOST CALENDAR with Benjamin Percy.

My first Paul Davidson page. I honestly don’t know much about him or his art, but I saw this page along with two others from some recent X-Force issues that dealt with a time-traveling savior Kid Omega and Beast officially off his rocker creating a doomed future. With all the latest happening for the FALL OF X, seeing a cool Nimrod piece was up my alley. This storyline was a bit forced for me but I still really enjoyed the team up and various time missions over the GHOST CALENDAR saga. I especially enjoyed how it ended with Colossus and Domino, lots of good and sad drama; I’ll highlight more on that page from X-Force #42 when I post it.

This pre-lim compared to the final published Beast/Nimrod hybrid was quite a world apart. The idea and design were similar but major tweaks for overall look. If anything, I feel like this is more of a Davidson Nimrod piece than what ultimately came together.

Other than the color, this design is Nimrod yoked from a gym membership. Maybe he might start talking like a college professor.

Davidson did some nice work on X-Factor a few years back. He's a talented artist as seen here.

I like the original a bit more, I think. The final a little too on the "Beast" nose IMO, but still cool. And cool seeing the difference with the 2 images - always like that process aspect of OA! Congrats!
