Description

Gustavo Duarte has been doing some great cartooning on a series of DC all ages books, and he brings that same energy to this commission. One of the greatest joys of my DKR commission collection is seeing how so many great but varied artists approach Batman and Carrie. Some lean into the grim and gritty of the original series, while others bring a light and fun angle to this dynamic duo. I really love how Gustavo pushed the scale in this illustration, leaning into the bulk and stoicism of Batman while instilling Carrie with lightness and playfulness.

Such a fun rendition of the DKR duo! Love how big and bruising Bats is vs Carrie, almost like she's an actual bird on his shoulder! Gustavo is on my list to get a piece from - I'll get there! Congrats!

Big and bold body shot of Batman. Love the big gloves. Duarte hides the hands only giving us a hint showing a big knuckle. They might be big or can be as tiny as Carrie's hands.
