DescriptionA powerhouse Immonen / von Grawbadger joint that spends as much time popping heroes out of panels as it does eyeballs out of sockets…. Scatchamagowza! It’s one of those timeless Spider-Man images that feels like it could, in a pinch, stand in for the text on the “Previously In” recap page at the start of each issue: an image that almost says it all, with the Daily Bugle building slyly winking at the viewer in the background. Beautiful nighttime city inking by Wade, bolstered by the lovely colors on the printed page by Justin Ponsor. Thank you, Joseph (at Brit Comics Art)! Social/Sharing |

A one-and-done quality piece by a fantastic artistic pairing. I hope this makes it to the wall...if you have any room left given all the other great pieces you have.

What good is fluidity, what good is Bendis
If it ain't Immonen something sweet?
Nah, it ain't the seventies, and it ain’t the classics
There's something else that makes this toon complete
Yes, it don't Immonen, if it ain't got that swing
Well, it don't mean a thing, all you got to do is ink
It’s Wade’s style difference if it's sweet or hot
Just work in tandem when he inks Stuart
Yes, it don't mean a thing, if it ain't got web swing
It don't mean a thing, don't mean a thing if it ain't got web swing, boy
I said, it don't mean a thing, and all you gotta do is ink like
Nah, it’s Wade’s art difference if it's sweet or not
Just give that vision everything Stuart
Not Immonen, boy, if it ain't got that web swing

Stunner! I was a hair behind you in getting to this one- I think it's THE Spidey page from Immonen's tenure on the book. Von Grawbadger's inks take this up a level, too, and the two quieter panels below add so much. Mega congrats!

Even though I grew up with the Romita/Kane versions of my favorite character, in terms of contemporary artists, I really enjoy those who are able to strike the perfect balance of cartoony and traditional. This is a perfect example. That big Spidey figure up top gives me a sort of Bachalo/Ramos vibe. But again, it's that balance of elements that makes this page work for me.

I absolutely love pages like this, with such great images, where Spidey could be in the midst of any adventure, or just swinging around the city for the fun of it. Also love how Spidey breaks panel at the top there. Excellent get!!

Man, a legit Spidey banger! Definitely one of those images I think of then I think "Immonen" or "Ultimate Spidey"! Like he's swinging right out of that top panel and into the next of the story. As a big fan of Immonen's Ultimate Spidey stuff...hard to top, my friend. Big congrats!

Wow! Absolutely jaw-dropping panel page by Stuart Immonen and Wade Von Grawbadger! That huge Spider-man image swinging out from the top panel and over the others almost makes this a splash page! I love that massive Spidey dominating the page like that! Immonen really knows how to compose a page to make it special. And Wade's inks really finish the page off beautifully. There's something about the combination of thick and thin lines that Wades uses that really seems to heighten the illusion of dimension. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
