Description

Chris Sprouse drew a terrific run of the Legion of Super-Heroes book Legionnaires that followed the 5YL run and the Reboot of the DC Universe told in Zero Hour.

I greatly enjoyed this version of the Legion. It was basically upbeat and positive. You can see a tribute to it in Jeff Moy's faux Sugar and Spike #100 cover in my collection of such.

I met Chris at GalaxyCon - Austin and decided to get a sketch from him. Though he's worked on many characters and titles, I went with the Legion. He said he'd work on it Friday night, but on Saturday morning, no Chris, no sketchbook, and no drawing! Later a note was placed on the table saying he would be late. When he showed up, he was on crutches! He'd broken his ankle overnight and had gone for treatment that morning. Ouch!

Over the next few hours, he worked on my sketch, signed hundred of comics, and did a panel. He was able to complete it with enough time left in the day for me to get home to Houston at a reasonable hour! Go, Chris!

Crisp and clean style as always from Sprouse. Let's hope whatever broke was clean and he'll recover quickly.
