Description

Got this absolute stunner from Brent Anderson as a commission to raise money for the Comic Art Museum as part of their sketch-a-then event. To have my favorite fuzzy elf rendered so perfectly by the genius artist behind God Loves, Man Kills is such an honor. After confirming the arrival of the art, Brent Anderson sent a very thoughtful email describing his history with Nightcrawler and God loves, Man Kills. Turns out he forgot to draw Nightcrawlers tail in the famous ‘You dare call that thing human?!’ Panel. It’s bothered him ever since, even though most of us never noticed.

A far as I'm concerned the panel without the tail is perfect as is. It spoke to how prejudices are shallow in the story and in real life. Stryker will point out what's different at first glance of skin color without needing to go any deeper about mutated physical deformities to convince his already bigoted audience. This is a fabulous piece with Nightcrawler in full stride after teleporting. The foreshortening is amazing with both the hand and tail reaching towards us.
