The Pieces of Eight comment made me think of Styx. This is a visually striking piece of art. The Steranko type of effects are nicely done with all of the added details. Great pickup.

Crimson Corsair through the years
Rollin' high at mighty Maz
Found this with Sidon Ithano
Using ideas as my maps
We'll meet on edges, moon, said I
Proud 'neath pirate scowl

Ah, but I want so much Star Wars then
I'm sold on Trakhanov
Ink-washed emphasis leaped forth
Art drawn back page, I screamed
Lines that life is black and white
Spoke from my outer rim
The comic facts of buccaneers
Commissioned him, somehow
Artyom did the back cover then
For kyber crystals now
