Noel is one of my favorite artists to deal with. Besides the fact that he draws cool shit, he is flexible and willing to really bang on a piece till it comes out right.

I think the first piece he did for me is the best as it had lots of detail and texture. The day that arrived I put a deposit on another piece. We went in a wilder direction color and detail wise. He also made it WAY bigger. When that one arrived, I put a deposit on this one.

I floated a few ideas (cover recreation, poster for imaginary movie, etc.) before we landed on a fan casting piece. I think Noel felt challenged by me asking if he was good at likenesses, so when I asked him to paint actress Alexa Mansour as a Bachalo version of Death of the Endless, this wonderfullness is where we ended up.

Noel also did two full-size A3 pencil drawings as preliminaries which is not something he has done for me in the past. When I asked why he had done such detailed pencils he told me that he had gone camping and it had rained that whole weekend. All he had to do was draw. I bought those prelims too.

The colors are just incredible. Having it be a rainy night brings out even more of the character of the city as lights are reflected off the ground. Stll, Death's deathly skin color is the most unnatural in the entire piece.
