Description

This was my first (and hopefully not my last) page from this issue. A great shot of Jenny Sparks getting wasted under the visage of Henry Bendix (a little foreshadowing there) as well as a city-starved Jack Hawksmoor absolutely hating life on a spaceship.

Tom Raney's work on this book was pretty underrated...he took the traditionally frenetic and splashy Stormwatch visual style and brought in some more measured page design, like this one, with a ton of negative space making the panels seem like frames hung on the wall of a descending staircase. For a book that introduced three new characters (I didn't forget you, Rose Tattoo), this descent at the tail end of the issue is a premonition of things to come, amazing things that ultimately will result in the ascension of The Authority.
