10x14.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Sargento Rock Vol. 1 #4, which reprints various Sgt. Rock stories from "Our Army At War". Published in Spain c. 1980 Mundi. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing a original composition that was based on panel from the US issue story "The Vision" by Russ Heath. Action scene of Sgt. Rock and his men taking out a German pillbox machine gun team. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains bright and clean. Displays VF. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring DC's most popular military character and is unsigned by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
