Ambrose by Mark Buckingham (Modern Masterworks)

I love the "Modern Masterworks" formats. Very insightful little books with a lot of info & history on specific artists. I have quite a few of them & when the time is right, I take them with me to shows.

At FACTS Fall Edition 2023 yesterday, that was the case for Mark Buckingham. It was such a joy to see him again, after our meeting at Lake Como in 2022. Mark's one of the nicer people in the hobby, and such a trooper. From the very first minute to the last, he was signing books for fans & doodled in most of them. His line was long, but no one minded: Mark took his time with you.

My wife & I waited for the right time when it was a bit slower & we may have been at his table for close to half an hour. We chatted a bit, about Como, his family, his work & the commission he had brought with him for me.

To my surprise, Mark remembered us, and when leaving laughingly said that this probably wouldn't be the last commission he'd do for me. I may have to take him up to that offer at one point in the future! I'll pos that piece soon!
