Description

Jumbo Comics #11 page 4 (1939).

The Count of Monte Cristo is a literary masterpiece that has been reprinted since its creation and has been a must-read novel for over a century. The story has also been interpreted into comics at least three times, but this is the oldest version I know of. It is my favorite childhood novel because what kid wouldn't love a treasure hunt wrapped in adventure and revenge. A pivotal moment before Dante's master plan was executed, and the oldest piece of art in my collection.

Beautiful! Love how he spotted his blacks, and the faces and posture of each of the figures really tells the story
