Lord of the Rings 1978 Storyboard - Moria Khazad-dûm Mike Ploog

Storyboard by Mike Ploog from the 1978 Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings animated film.
Heritage description says "cavern scene", but it is most certainly Moria/Khazad-dûm. It could be the Second Hall or perhaps the Chamber of Mazarbul (there might be a tomb if you zoom in) or just a generic Moria depiction.
Great detail even in a small drawing. Beautiful use of light and shadow, you really sense that this is the remnants of something once grand.
Glad to own this small piece of Rings history. I do love pre-Peter Jackson LOTR images.
