The First Test Subject

-FROM THE DESK OF THE QUIET COUNCIL-

When Emma approached the quiet council about building what would come to be known as the Lovers Gate, she was surprised at the push back from other members on the council. Nightcrawler & Xavier both had moral & religious issues with her idea. Kitty believed she wouldn't be able to use the gate. So naturally Colossus sided with her as well. Emma put it up for a vote. Hope, Destiny, Raven, & Sinister all sided with Emma. Xavier, Nightcrawler, Kitty, Colossus & Shaw voted against it. With Storm not present while on Mars, the final decision would fall to Exodus. Being the deciding vote, Exodus requested that he be the first mutant to use & test the gate for his deciding up vote. Emma was more than happy to use Exodus as a test subject to get approval. So with a six to five vote, construction was started on the gate with Forge's help.

I had just walked into the gate when I suddenly found myself naked, standing in the Arbor Magna hatchery. Had the first test failed? Had I just been resurrected from an egg? That's when I noticed across from me that another egg was hatching. Rising up from that egg like a Venus, was a naked Hope Summers. She then beckoned me to approach her.
