Description

I signed up for 2 mystery sketches at the fall 2023 Comic Art Live event. I gave 3 options to the artists. Two were band related, and the other based on comic characters. Mark Torres from Next Comic Art ended up with one of my orders and chose to go with the 'Ghost' request. He also went the extra mile adding a second character and backgrounds!

I am calling this 'Miasma' after the 5th track on Ghost's 4th studio album Prequelle released in 2018. Prequelle is based on the black plaque. This scene depicts a glowing Cardinal Copia with Papa Nihil. Is the Cardinal getting ready to ascend and become Papa IV? Will the original Papa (Nihil) be ingulfed in a miasma and perish?

March 3, 2020 (Mexico City) - Papa Nihil died on stage after playing the saxophone during the instrumental Miasma. Cardinal Copia then ascends to become Papa Emeritus IV. Unfortunately I was unable to attend since I was in Osaka, Japan. I did however watch the live stream from my hotel.

I thought I had seen Papa Nihil for that last time, but I was wrong. During the last tour, they wheeled his dead body out on stage, and brought him to life long enough to play the sax solo again. Here is some concert footage that I shot:
