Description
Having a Struzan Star Wars piece has always been high on the list and I figured was going to be difficult, since the poster images that come to mind are tucked away in the Lucasfilm archives (and out of my budget anyway). His preliminary work, like these poster comprehensive studies, is quite detailed and is wondrous to see regardless. I was happy to find this comp for the Episode III poster that is quite similar to the end product (if you look at the various comps, it seemed like he took aspects of each for the final poster).

Despite your feelings on the prequel trilogy (which I've come to appreciate more as more details have been fleshed out), the posters that they produced for them were amazing and I'm glad they recruited Drew to continue his iconic Star Wars work.

Yes, super finished look no doubt, and was always impressed with this poster composition.  Congrats on checking that Struzan box!

Great piece!  For a long time I thought the posters were better than the movies.  I saw some fan made edited movies on youtube before big D got the rights that were pretty good.  The "Anti Cheese Edits".   Maybe they can still be found somewhere now, but I think big D went after all the dirty little ip thieves Lucas seemed to consider engaged fans.

Amazing!  The designs also brought redos of the OT and kept everything within the theme of a grand saga.  It might be one of the greatest acheivements of Struzan's career to bring these to life.

I prefer the composition to the final poster, personally. The looming Vader and the smaller Hayden puts the emphasis where most fans preferred it stay, on the mythic threat to come.
