Movie Yondu's comic book introduction drawn by Garron for the 2015 Star Lord series. Is this considered a cameo? Either way, I loved seeing the giant spaceship, and his big grin and punk rock, space pirate look.

Thanks to the movies I've been reminded to go back and slowly check out several stories including Legendary Star-Lord, Black Vortex, and some of these Star-Lord issues. I welcome recommendations too as there are several I haven't read yet.

This isn't the Yonda the silver and bronze age readers might remember from the Marvel Super-Heroes days. This Yondu was directly inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who was played by Michael Rooker in the 2014 and 2017 films, 2022 holiday special, and a cameo in the 2023 film. Plus the Disney+ animated What If?... series. Coming off the success of the first film Marvel decided to bring the newly redesigned Yondu into the main Earth-616 universe for the first time.

Charismatic space pirate with that panel for the smile! Everything else informs us of his style and swagger! He could be a character out of 2000AD and we wouldn't have even noticed.
