Description

On this page (and several surrounding it), Supergirl endures psychic torture at the hands of her own suicidal subconscious, here manifesting as a cyclops gremlin wizard.

She tries to think about happier things, including her civilian disguise, her adoptive parents Fred and Edna Danvers, her handsome boss Geoff Anderson, and, um, the destruction of Krypton? The caption confuses her origin with that of Superman since she was born in space-flung Argo City. Speaking of which, notably absent from her thoughts is her famous cousin.

These early 1970s stories are still some of the darkest Supergirl tales ever, signaling her transition into the Bronze Age.

I really love how Sekowsky has laid this story out and this apge is a prime example.

I think they got the idea that guys like horror and seeing the innocent girls get turned into scream queens.
