DescriptionMarvel Comics May 1978 from the story "The Devourer of the Dead!" written by Roy Thomas.Conan and Zula size up Luxor from afar. Very happy to pick this one up - I was looking for a great page to replace the #85 I sold and this one more than fit the bill. Social/Sharing |

Conan and Zula as a musclebound duo gave Thomas and Summer a team up dynamic to this story. It's a great visual treat as it has a kick ass title to go along with two kick ass dudes!

Was eyeing this one myself and wondered where it would end up. Congratulations on a really great Buscema Conan title splash.

I'm going to say this, and I may be banished from the kingdom, but John Buscema was the man to draw Conan. Just look at him. THAT is Conan, the way Conan was meant to look. A walking side of beef that could punch through a stone wall. I never liked BWS's Conan. Too slight. Too fragile-looking. He's a great artist, but he was mis-assigned to the character. Conan was meant to look like this, and this is just perfect. Just perfect.

Wow, that is just one of the Buscema/Chan opening Conan splashes to beat! This was so in the sweet spot of my favorite Conan era, congrats by Crom!
