Description

Kicking the New Year off with someone new. There are a few pieces by Mark "Mikō" Pica on CAF already, and I'm sure that there will be many, many more in the years to come. This young artist from the Philippines is carving a path for himself in graphite, and with a little help from Jiggy, he should soon be a force to be reckoned with.

I was on a strict art diet but I was absolutely transfixed when I saw this on a Next Comic Art zoom, and set it up for an #OAX2024 delivery. I love the foresight that Mark shows in the composition of this piece and the followthrough execution is worthy of the blood of Númenor.

Wow, wow, wow! Some of the finest pencil work I've ever seen. Will have to keep my eyes peeled for an example to add to my Filipino gallery.

ML, you're definitely one of the OA cats that gets me looking into new artists and here are are again! This is outstanding! Immediately reminded me of Jae Lee's pencil work on The Dark Tower, and that's a good thing. So cool how you got all of the Nazgûl steeds in different poses and scales. Congrats!
