Description

It's time for more intra-Amazon warfare, as Nubia takes on her childhood friend Zilla to see who will win Sekhmet's amulet. There�s dialogue, but the action is pretty self-explanatory. Our queen is having a bad time of it here; I hope things turn out OK.

Alitha Martinez penciled individual frames which were combined digitally to construct the blue-line printout which Mark Morales inked. According to Mark, his is the only original art that exists physically in full-page layouts like this.

Nubia debuted as the first known black Amazon (and perhaps the first black female superhero) in Wonder Woman #204 (1973). In more recent stories, Nubia is a title or role, here held by an Amazon named Zahavah.

That layout is wild and almost goes full montage in action! Morales might have even had a tough time deciphering how to ink it and spearate the layers of depth.
