Description

Ed Brubaker's yearlong story "The Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire" dealt largely with Gabriel "Vulcan" Summers, the Shi'ar-raised brother of Cyclops and Havok. These pages show him and his lover Deathbird en route to visit Emperor D'Ken, who has been catatonic since the M'Kraan Crystal incident in issue #108.

Henry and Morales were seated together at Orlando MegaCon 2024, which seemed like the ideal time to pick up the last four pages (that they had, not the final four pages of the published book).

When you have Shi'ar, their character and costumes all bring to mind the Cockrum and Claremont era of comics.  Both Vulcan and Deathbrid could have easily fit into those stories.  Particularly strong with the intro panel and face to face close up images.
