VIEW AUCTION LISTING HERE!

Original 17x24.5" pen and ink art for December 2, 1956 Sunday strip w/Walt Kelly copyright and notation of "The Hall Syndicate". 13-panel story has Congersman Frog, an elected official, accompanied by his look-alike male secretary, with whose pay he lights his "seegars" (not shown in this strip). He practices disavowing his candidacy for the presidency-not very convincingly. His seldom-used first name is Jumphrey, and his secretary/sidekick was occasionally referred to by name Fenster Moop. (Fenster apparently rose to Congress himself. In later years he's addressed as "Congersman", and attended by his own look-alike secretary, Feeble E. Merely.). Story features a focus on the word "Fawgh". Last panel makes reference to "Getting A Job In The Funny Papers". Strip has original blue pencil sketches which have been finalized in black ink. Several tack holes along top margin, lead pencil notations along bottom right margin. Light aging/handling. Displays Exc. Great, early appearance of the frog duo.
