DescriptionDespite Jeff's best efforts, I've been able to avoid being addicted to Hembeck's sketch cards. But in a CAF live stream back in Nov of 2023, I was fortunate to win this published Spider-man Hembeck page->https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1975782 Well, Hembeck published pages, that's pretty cool. I remember reading these at the back of issues and annuals (and a couple 'roast' books) when I was kid and enjoying the parody and comedy for our favorite characters. Guess what? Published Hembeck Spidey pages are....exceedingly rare - go over to the upper right search bar 'spider-man hembeck' and take out sketch cards and recreations, I'll wait. --Welcome back----! Thus began the long journey to finding and liberating from the EU these 3 pages from ASM Annual #23 (1989). In the process I made a new cross-border OA friend and am excited to induct these incredible three pages that you can tell were designed to be in a 1x3 layout into the McSpidey vault. In addition to 30 villians there are 2 extras in there plus Spidey for 33 characters. A bonus is the art is hand lettered and boy did the letterer earn his keep on this one (Hembeck is a wordy humorist). Enjoy - I went with the 1x3 camera pic here, high-res scans and color images in alts. Social/Sharing |

An impressive display of 30 characters across three pages and a possibly more impressive display of lettering. Major congrats!

This used to be my countdown
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the page I ran to
Whenever I was in need of a Fred
Why did it have to end?
And why do they always say?
Good look web
Keep your Freds held high
Don't ask them why because page count’s short
And before you know you'll annual
And your art is counting
Down, sell art with the cash
Well that's too much to ask

I counted eight persistent weasels (Spideys own words) that he could knock out with one punch. Persistently lame types. Lol

Was there ever more of a triple-dog-doozy than this triple-dog-doozy? I think not.

Man, what a haul! So much to see and read and pore over! One of those "last o' the '80s" items I KNOW you're thrilled to nab. Big congrats!
