DescriptionBefore there was Moebius or Gir, there was Jean Giraud. This piece was completed by Giraud at the time of his military service, during the France-Algerian War. He worked for the military in-house publication 5/5 Forces Francaises.. It was illustrated for an article by Philippe Boitel called ‘Le Satellite Au Services De Telecommunications’ (translation: ‘Satellite for Communications’). Thank you to J Michel Lemaire for confirmation of the publication details. Definitely NOT for sale. Social/Sharing |

So simple and yet so sophisticated. That switch from black to white on the satellite is divine.

Pretty nice with the complicated grid and geometric design being done free hand. At those angles, he might not have used any straightedge for the dish.
