Illustration from one of the thick Mammoth pulps produced b yZiff Davis in the late 1940's. Art is by Ziff Davis mainstay Malchom Smith. It is for an educational article on safecracking . They traditionally ran these in the back of the magazines as a socially beneficial educational service to balance out the mayhem in the rest of the pulp
