DescriptionBeautiful super-early page from the classic story « Topolino e il Terrore dei Mari », which was first published in the Italian Topolino 66-68 in 1953. Many questions have always surrounded this story, as it was traced from the 1952 British Mickey Mouse story « The Reluctant Pirate », by Harold Whitaker & Ronald Nielsen (first published in the British Mickey Mouse Weekly 642-668). The INDUCKS page lists Luciano Nustrini as the possible artist (tracer?) on the Terrore dei Mari story…The page itself (page 12 of the 3rd part) is gorgeous with Mickey’s ancestor pondering his life as a pirate captain, before Mickey & Gamma (the oldest surviving non-Gottfredson artwork of this character, that I’m aware of) make their entrance. This is the only page, that I have ever seen from this story…I’d love to know if more might have survived… Social/Sharing |
