Description

I just bought this on a Japanese e-marketplace. I went to Osaka ComicCon in early May this year, and was impressed by Ryan Benjamin�s work. This piece, dated 2014, looked nice and is also signed by Richard Friend. I�m not sure if they collaborated on this piece as penciller and inker, but it�s a cool addition to the collection at any rate. I know Richard Friend has a page on CAF, so maybe he can fill us all in on the story.

This past Comic Art Live was my introduction to the work of Richard Friend. Really digging what I've seen so far. The inks on this piece suggest a kind of rapid combat that you could only witness if you were being saved —or are next for a smackdown.

Nice combo of energetic lines found in the pencil, the marker, the illustrative crosshatching lines, and in the splatter spray. It makes Batman look more demon like and a force of the supernatural!
