DescriptionArt can be a kind of magic. Daniel Scott has worked for years as a collage artist, combining scraps of colored wax paper from candy wrappers to make amazing collages. I'd already acquired one of his works a year earlier when I saw this one. It takes his craft a step further, providing color for the already-impressive line art of Lewis LaRosa's recent cover for the time-jumping comic "Save Now." The final work consists of two sheets. The top sheet is a stat of LaRosa's black and white line art (I don't own the original for this), printed on a thick transparent overlay. The bottom sheet contains Scott's wax paper collage. This work is best appreciated when held in your hands, going back and forth between the individual and combined images. The shiny foil on the watches looks much better in person as well, and my scanner over-saturates the reds compared to real life. See additional photos. Social/Sharing |
