Marvel Knights: Spider-Man (2013) Issue 4 Page 18

I stumbled upon Marco Rudy simply because he was tabled next to Bart Sears at Heroes Con 2024. I had "business" to address with Bart, but when it was finished, I sidestepped over to Rudy's table to peruse his portfolios.

I did not know who he was or what he had done until that moment. I flipped through his pages, like so many others I had flipped through that day, but every time I reached page 17 (already posted) and 18 (this page) from this series (which I have never read, and never will), I had to stop and stare. I visited his table at least three more times that day. Each time flipping through all the pages of all his portfolios. Each time, stopping to stare at this pair.

Rudy was a pleasure to talk to. Happy to just make small talk, or detail anything you wanted about any piece. After that last stare session on Friday, I told him I had to sleep on it and would be back one way or another tomorrow.

To be honest, I had dreams about these pages that night. When I made it on the con floor, the first thing I did was beeline Rudy's table to make sure the pages were still there. Thankfully, they were. He let me barter on price. Signed them and scribbled the page details on them (though he forgot the page numbers). I even bought his Kickstarter book from him. Great Artist. Great Guy.

Best part of this page? The fingerprints in the blood. Did you see them before I pointed it out?
