DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!From same issue as previous lot, includes original pen and ink art for complete two-page "Pint Size Pin-Ups" section, which featured single image of Sugar and Spike w/an assortment of different outfits to cut out as suggested by readers. Of note, Sugar has "Wonder Baby" outfit inspired by Wonder Woman while Spike has "Bat-Baby" Batman outfit. Art is by Sheldon Mayer (1917-1991), who created, wrote and drew Sugar And Spike. Mayer has signed his initials at bottom of "-And For Spike" page. Art is on 12.5x20.5" and 12.5x21" artboards w/printed title stat pasted at top of each page; each has inked month of publication and issue/page numbers. Each artboard has Comics Code Authority inkstamp on front at bottom left w/some scattered margin notations. Art remains clean and Exc. on both. Great comical example of Sugar And Spike original art featuring a nice tie-in to Sugar And Spike publisher DC Comics' superhero characters. Social/Sharing |
