Start of the Simon/Hank Bromance! Nice!

Gorgeous Avengers page by Gene Colan. Gene's talent has always been amazing to me. He was astonishingly good drawing the supernatural exploits of Doctor Strange and Tomb of Dracula. But he was equally good at handling the humorous adventures of Howard the Duck. And here, he's drawing the primo superhero group on Earth--The Avengers-And again, he's handlling it like it's no big deal. Has the man no limits? Anyway, on this page he's managing the somewhat humorous, somewhat serious, adventures of the Beast and Wonder Man. I love that opening panel with the Beast leaping way too high for his own good, only to be rescued by Simon Williams. Colan does his usual fabulous layout on this page. I love the angles he chooses to draw the panels from, very interesting composition. And he's joined by inker Dan Green, who always makes pages look better with his crisp, sharp inks. Great pick-up, congrats!
